More and more people switch to audio devices that work with the Dante protocol. Audio signal transmitted via analogue cables can be subject to signal degradation due to electromagnetic interference. The signal can also suffer from high-frequency attenuation and, in addition, voltage drop often occurs with the use of long cable lengths. In addition, wiring is difficult to realize in some environments, such as situations where it is a shame or even impossible to have to pull meters of cables. For these problems, Dante speakers, such as the various series of SoundTube, are the ideal solution.
Fantastic signal quality
The Dante surface mounted, built-in and pendulum speakers from SoundTube are designed for superior sound. Ethernet cables, to which the speakers are connected, are not susceptible to external interference, so no quality loss occurs with a Dante network. These cables also make it possible to work with much longer lengths than with analogue, without signal loss taking place here. In addition, Dante IP networks are now so fast that there is simply no longer any delay within the same network.
Easy to install
Dante makes installing, monitoring and controlling audio networks easier, regardless of where those audio devices are located. The ease of installation is mainly increased because thick or large numbers of cables are no longer required, compared to an analogue network. The speakers are supplied with the audio signal, the power supply and the control functions via a single Ethernet cable. Power, audio and control functions can be connected simply and quickly in one go. The power supply in these cases is provided by a SoundTube STNet Switch, or another standard PoE (+) switch, also available from Tau. In non-PoE (Power over Ethernet) installations, the speakers can be connected to a 12 or 24 volt DC power connector. Software makes configuration and zoning of the speaker very easy and if problems occur with a speaker during use, this is reported via the SoundTube software. The biggest advantage is that all Dante products are always compatible with each other.
Easy to adjust
A Dante network is very flexible and extensions to the Dante network are therefore very easy to implement. Changing a previously chosen routing structure is a matter of adjusting settings in the software; adjustments to a Dante system can usually be realized with a few mouse clicks. If something changes to the installation, it is not necessary to rewire the entire audio installation.
Expand with non-Dante
Not only can the Dante speakers from SoundTube communicate with other Dante audio devices, with the IPD4 speakers even non-Dante SoundTube speakers can be added to the network. A single IPD4 speaker is sufficient to provide up to three additional non-Dante speakers with power and signal. This cluster of speakers can then also process two separate audio channels. This offers every project a very cost-effective way to expand the audio coverage of a sound system.
