V for voltage improvement
Contacta adds a new hearing loop driver to the V series. This hearing loop driver has all the attributes of the V7 and V14, but it is furnished with dual outputs. Due to the two 90-degree phase-shifted class-D amplifier stages the new V15 is also suitable for phased array configurations in classrooms, lecture halls, meeting rooms or waiting rooms. The front panel of the V15a is like the other V amplifiers, but it has a second ‘Clip’ status LED. It’s furnished with the same connectors on the back panel with the addition of a second 2-way Euro block for a second loop output. The V15a replaces the V12a in the V series. The new hearing loop driver has the same amount of ampere, namely 5, but a higher voltage: 15 instead of 12. This means that the new amplifier can provide larger spaces with signal.
Contacta V goes PRO
Contacta is currently developing the V PRO series: more powerful, more intelligent class-D hearing loop drivers with higher voltages and amperes than the V series. More powerful, because the new series will be suitable for medium and large spaces, where the current series is more suitable for small and medium-sized induction loop systems. The V PRO series hearing loop drivers will be equipped with an ARM Cortex processor and dual DSPs. Highly-rated custom heat-sinks and active cooling will ensure that the powerful amplifiers keep their cool. What will make this series more intelligent than the V series is, for example, the possibility to remotely setup a V PRO hearing loop driver through a local area connection and to save these settings to a USB storage device. The built-in guided hearing loop setup makes installation easier and quicker as well, using an integral test signal generator. An intelligent self-monitoring system will send status emails about changes to driver functions. Finally, the amplifiers from the V PRO series will be equipped with a full colour, high resolution LCD display, which makes navigation even easier and more intuitive.
